At Ravensdale Junior School, our vision as governors is to foster an environment where every child is empowered to reach their full potential. We are committed to supporting a school culture that is inclusive, ambitious, and rooted in kindness. Our goal is to ensure that Ravensdale remains a place of excellence, where high standards of education and personal development go hand in hand. By working collaboratively with staff, parents, and the wider community, we aim to uphold our values, drive continuous improvement, and prepare our students to thrive both academically and personally.

What We Do

The governing body is there to oversee the success of the school, the day to day running of the school is the job of the Head of School and senior staff.

Governors provide support and challenge to the school leaders to deliver the best outcomes for everybody at Ravensdale. We oversee the key functions of the school and set targets for improvements and outcomes.

This year, we are focusing on a number of key areas;

• Working with the SENCo to establish a consistent positive culture of inclusion across school.
• To develop and embed a culture of consistent high expectations for all across school.
• To establish a consistent approach to high quality Teaching and Learning across school.

Dear Parents, Guardians, and Pupils,

I am delighted to welcome you to Ravensdale Junior School, a vibrant and inclusive community where every child is encouraged to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally through our ‘culture of kindness’. As the Chair of Governors, it is my privilege to work alongside our dedicated leadership team, passionate teachers, and supportive staff to ensure that we provide the highest quality of education for all children.

Our school is committed to fostering a nurturing environment where every child can feel safe, valued, and inspired to reach their full potential, we strive to equip our students with the knowledge, and confidence they need to succeed in life.

Our governing body plays an integral role in the strategic direction of the school. We work closely with the Headteacher, staff and Transform Trust to maintain high standards, provide support, and ensure accountability. Our primary goal is to ensure that Ravensdale continues to be a place where children love to learn, and where parents and the wider community are actively engaged in the life of the school.

We encourage open communication between home and school and welcome the input and feedback of parents. Together, we can ensure that each child receives the support and opportunities they need to flourish. We are incredibly proud of our school and look forward to seeing the positive contributions our children will continue to make as they grow.
